Same old, same old!

Nothing new! A lull in the exciting life of a 59 year old grandmother of three and mother of three! I have been working nights scrapbooking pages for Kellen who was three weeks old yesterday. Caroline turned 25 yesterday. Lynne and Sheila came with a carvel cake for her and scrapbooked with me. Looking forward  to putting up the new table and chair set for the deck (do you think the weather will ever clear enouigh to use it?) Doug is making his fabulous chicken parm for Caroline and I to take to Pop's tomorrow night. I do see another garage sale in our future. I am still weeding out and throwing out eight years of neglect. Still have Grammies collection of gnomes, tons of longaberger baskets, and a ton of stuff left from my scrapbooking store (cash registers, paper racks,6ft. grid panels, paper, stickers etc.), not to mention all of the other random stuff. Can't do the cosmetic painting and decorating stuff until all of the junk has been removed. The outside of the house is getting there too. We have weeded and raked leaves from the winter. This year we are using weed killer on driveway and other hard to weed areas. We did do one foolish thing....I raked the whole front yard and then put down weed and feed. GUESS  WHAT? The grass is growing , filling in, and is green. The Problem? I am also the one who cuts the grass. Enough of normal. I am sure all hell will break loose again soon.  Wait for it....................................................................

Olivia

Dana contacted Emilie about taking some photographs of Olivia, and mentioned that they were going to be at a dance competition in Somerset on Friday night. We agreed to meet at Ruby Tuesday's for dinner. So, a group of six of us, Emilie, Matt, Samantha, Me, Dana, and Olivia met there at 7PM.
I hadn't seen Dana since last November and I can't remember the last time I saw Olivia (probably at Angela's) Look how grown up Olivia is! I will have to find out how she did in the dance competition last night. It was good to see and talk to both of them.

PS.....

Caroline said to me that I didn't explain where the bullets came from. Last fall we bought Doug's chair from a friend whose father had died. The chair had almost never been used. After I found the bullets Doug called them and said "Guess what we found tucked in the chair?" (I would have guessed money) My friend's husband said, "a pistol?" Doug said , " no, just the ammunition." My friend's grandfather was a police officer in Louieville, Kentucky and the guns were passed down from him. Mystery solved!

Wacky Wednesday

Wacky Wednesday didn't happen until approximately 10:30pm last night. I had just gotten home from dinner and Kismet with Caroline and my Dad. I was sitting in Doug's special chair (helps him to get out of chair and stand upright.......
when I reached down along the arms, down under the cushion, you know, to search for money, paper towels, cheese curls, m&m's! ,when my hand touches something solid ....did I mention that I was watching last nights taped Criminal Minds?

I pulled out this old green box. It was heavy and I looked at it. Saw high velocity on it and realized what was in the box.

OH, YES! Do you know what I found a box of in my husbands favorite chair?

a full box of old 32 Smith and Wesson bullets. OMG! "Caro, come here please I want to show you something!" "What Mom?" "Just come and Look!"
Caro said, how do you know that they are bullets (Hey! I do watch Criminal Minds and take notes)
She ran upstairs and asked Doug if they were his (He has been a little depressed about retiring and his Muscular Dystrophy). He emphatically denied that they were his - he knew nothing about them!

In the morning called my brother-in-law who is in law enforcement and asked him what to do about the discovery. At his advice we took the box of bullets to the Middlesex Police Headquarters.

Samantha and Kamryn thought it was a great adventure. All I wanted to do was get the bullets out of the house. We had towait a few minutes for an officer to take our information.

The girls had a million questions. I told them that I had found something that was not a toy and that I needed to tell the police about it and give it to them. (Police took my information, asked where I had found the bullets and how we had gotten the chair, they took the bullets, I said thank you and I hope we don't find the gun, now! and we left)

So after I took this picture we were in great need of a stress reliever, so to end a law enforcement story we went to......

Our local Dunkin Donuts for a banana, two munchkins each, an egg and cheese on a croissont, a large tea with lemon and sugar, two Boston Cremes, and two milks, oh yes and a plain bagel.

A lesson learned, a deed done, a mission accomplished! It really was a Wacky Wednesday and a Thrilling Thursday. Only in America and only to me!

I'm Nesting

That must mean that Angela is getting ready to have Clara! I took apart my bedroom of 37 years, broke the headboard by accident moving it around, bought a steel bed frame, Cleaned out, threw away, saved for a garage sale and went from this
To this in only ten straight hours of cleaning.

That window is the same view that is in the before picture! I know!  WOW!
