Friends

I don't remember any friends from Kindergarten. I remember the smell of paste and that we had a big circular water sink that you put your foot on the bar and the water turned on, kind of like a fountain. The point is that I took these pictures of Samantha today, after Preschool running around with her first special friend at school. His name is Karthtick(sp) and Mrs.Fabiano tells us that they enjoy playing together.

The Dogwoods

Each dogwood in our back yard was planted for a departed loved one. This tree was planted
27 years ago in the memory of our son Adam Grant Rex who was born and died on April 17,1984. That poor tree was planted three times before I was satisfied with it's location. At first it was painful to look at but over the years it has brought great beauty into my life.
The deep pink color is incredible and usually is in bloom just in time for Mother's Day!
The next tree was planted in memory of my Mother, Mildred Rose Garabrant Gordon who passed away unexpectedly in February of 1997 at the age of 75. This dogwood was purchased as one of three pink dogwoods - one for my father, one for my sister and one for me. All three little trees hung in there and bloom every spring.
This is a more pastel pink than Adam's tree and has taken a long time to establish itself, but this year the blooms are quite pretty.
I have been feeling nostalgic lately and with the threat of severe weather this morning, I ran out to take pictures of the blooms on both trees before they got blown off. I am happy to report that the severe weather was to the north of us and my beautiful dogwoods are fine.

It was a zoo!

No , literally! We went to the Staten Island Zoo with Samantha and Kamryn. We had a great time.
We learned how to read maps!

Sam fed an alpaca that looked very similar to Chase the Poodle!

Kamryn fed a goat!

We looked through the tunnel and saw a tarantula on the wall!
Basking in the sun with his eyes closed. Heaven!
"We had lunch at this table last time, Grandma!"

Easter Portraits?

Well, sort of...we use the holidays as an excuse to take great pictures of the girls. Got the pictures in before the rain sprinkles will have to try again on a sunny day.
Samantha had her Easter dress on, Kamryn didn't have hers so we dressed her up in dress up clothes (will redo in Easter dress)

Flowers behind Anne Ceccato's house. Just wanted you to know that Emilie took much better photos than I. But the competition between us is making me a better photographer! Watch her blog for her photos!

The Weekend

Kellen came to visit and to throw up on Grandma. Who would have thought that would be a fragrance that you might not mind
Caroline and Diego got in some baby holding practice time.
Flying solo! " He doesn't look comfortable, you'd better take him!"

This most adorable boy will be one month old on Tuesday!

Although not baby related it was the improvement of the week at 221 Greene Avenue. I realized that I had never owned a "real" patio set - always the plastic cheapo tables and chairs or someone elses hand me downs. You can see that Caroline was not sad at all to help me put it together. Here is to staycations!

A Little Sprinkle

Did you know that if you google free cupcake wrappers you can print them out at home.
Angela was looking a little sheepish when we came to visit.
Hey, they jumped up and said buy me! I spared no expense! Regular $1.99 - clearance 49 cents!
Waiting 20 minutes for a table at Confectionately Yours for dinner. Angela and Barbara Base.
She was shocked but not enough to go into labor!

Ok Angela! You can give birth now! You have had your sprinkle (not a shower).
