Grandma Junction
It's really called Kid Junction and it's located out in Readington. And it is a toss up who had more fun.....the children or the Grandmother. Emilie is furloughed this week, so we decided to have some fun together with the girls. We spent around two hours and the girls were fully engaged for the entire time. So much so that Samantha had a meltdown whe it was time to leave. Only 162 pictures..........so maybe I got 20 good ones!
(By the way, the girls were not the only ones who needed a nap!!!)

Was Grey's, Now Criminal!
Grey's Anatomy has failed to inspire me. I still watch it, but not with the same enthusiasm I once had. Of course that left a void, which I filled with Criminal Minds. You have to pay attention to Criminal, you don't want to miss any clues nor do you want to solve the crime too quickly. Usually there is a twist. It is fast paced and not at all predictable. The cast is intense, dedicated and talented. They make it believable. Enough gushing, I like it.

Productive
Did a spoon dance with Samantha and Kamryn. Took down the christmas tree and put it away. Brought in four loads of wood and one bag of kindling. Picked up about 10 pounds of dog poop from the back yard. Girls are awake from their naps. Sam will get picked up in about an hour, then DB and I will deliver Kamryn to Robyn at work. On to Pop-Pop's for Caroline's cooked chicken , rice and steamed vegetables and then three intense games of Kismet. Not bad for a day's work!

Remembering Don
Doug and I left home around 8:15am this morning to take Don, my father-in-law's remaining ashes to Island Beach State Park in New Jersey. Today is the one year anniversary of his passing. Most of Don is buried in Florida, next to Doug's Mother, Jean. So we don't have a gravesite to visit - just the beach, Doug's favorite place. Chase the poodle was with us and had a great time running around. Doug drank a beer in salute to his father, we watched until all of the ashes had been taken into the sea and then in the rain, trudged back to our car.

Just what I Needed!
After the stress of last week, I needed this day off, to have some fun .
Started the Day at Angela's at 10am cropping until about 1pm when we stopped to have a weight watcher meal. Barbara arrived soon after and we continued to crop. (Not necessarily my prolific self today). At around 4pm we stopped cropping, went potty and then went directly to the Silver Decoy Winery in Robbinsville, New Jersey. We tasted at least five or six different wines, I started to giggle, and Ang and Barb actually bought some.Left winery and then went to a diner called Americana where I had an excellent chicken francaise. Returned to Angela's where we had angelfood squares with slivered almonds and cropped until 8:45. Arrived home around 9:15. Life is good!

I don't want to play anymore
Angela, This blog's for you!!!
Can you hear me? I don't want to play anymore!
Enough is enough!
This morning I haven't quite rolled out of bed yet when I here, "Mom?" "Mom, come here"
"Mooom, coome here!
I yell what? What's wrong? (no answer) So I charge down the stairs.
Caro (tears streaming down her face) : " I was coughing and something popped right here and It hurts and I can't breathe."
Ok, just let me get dressed, are you ok for a minute? We will go to the Emergency room!
Noooo!
Long story short, waited till 9am, called Doctor, saw Dr.at 10am, at out patient radiology 10:36am, left hospital 11:45am (no bones broken, no hole in lung, just a badly strained muscle) Home taking tylenol with codeine 12:15pm
So, Angela if I say that you win, then we don't have to keep trying to out do the other. Let's just agree to be boring for the rest of 2010!
OK?

A Great Grammie Fix
No stitches for you ,young man! Get me the gauze, my scissors, the medical tape and some antibiotic. How did this happen , anyway? Oh, Yes! You were doing something stupid. Did you forget to put gloves on? Well, this will teach you a lesson. You won't do this the next time! I wish I had brought home more butterflies from the hospital. Oh, Well! This will just have to do.
And the young man's name: Douglas What was he doing?: splitting kindling with his bare hands . How bad was he bleeding?: at least a paper towel full . How deep was the cut?: about a quarter of an inch deep, one inch wide!

No temperature, bloodwork ok, oxygen level normal, chest x-ray normal, socks not so normal, Wouldn't want to be caught dead in them! Actual diagnosis: pulled muscle, wheezing! Fill this prescription for cough medicine and take Motrin

Look at my Little Girl
I am waiting for Matt and Emilie to pick up Samantha, 11:42 PM, who is asleep . So I have been learning how to insert a picture into my blog.Caroline looked at a bunch of bananas that we have had for over three weeks, waiting for them to ripen. She decided their time was up! So, she made this delicious banana bread.
Inspiration
I have been finding great web sites for inspiration on completing a 365 day album
http://photojojo.com/content/tutorials/project-365-take-a-photo-a-day/
http://www.writeclickscrapbook.com/
http://elizabethdillow.typepad.com/photos/365/index.html
From experience I know that you will hit a wall and not have any idea about what to photograph next. That's when you turn to others for inspiration. Apparently you can do this album right on your blog. I have to find out more about that. I still like the hands on, look at the album approach. I also realized that the more pictures that I took, the better I got at looking through the lens for something new. Now I need to CHANGE it up and dig deeper to make this Project Life better or just different from my 2009 album.

Just Breathe
It is too soon in the new year to feel presured and overwhelmed, so........just breathe! The tree will come down, the ornaments will be put away, the room will be cleaned again. Someday we will take down our pitiful outdoor decorations, at least before Easter. Doesn't everyone feel this way in January?
Preparing for tax time should be fun this year, I have eight years of personal (not store) paperwork to sort through , categorize and put into save or discard piles. Have you seen the show Hoarders on channel 181 (fios) OMG, I feel like I could be next on the show. Caroline assures me that we have CLEAN mess.Ok, enough, can you tell from the rambling I'm not breathing? Just Breathe...........

Sensory overload
A very stressful day! Everyone needed something from me. When I tried to help, sometimes I just made it worse. The babies were crying, Doug needed help filling out a Social Security Disability form, the dog was barking, the tv was babbling, the dog was barking, Doug was yelling at the dog to stop barking.......You get the picture! I called Caro and said OMG I need to go out tonight. Panera, Borders,Shop Rite then home and once again after a good nights sleep I will be ready to start another day!

Only One Arrived
...And I selfishly opened it and put my first page together. I am talking about this year's 365 Day album titled Project Life. I am proud to say that I did complete my 365 day album for 2009! It was fun, exasperating at times, and worth it ,now that it is finished. I talked Barbara and Janelle into ordering one also, but alas, their albums did not arrive today:(
While the babies slept I began cutting out 50 pieces of each element to go on the Firehouse crop layout giveaway. Sent home a bag of traced items to Emilie, for her to cut out. I may not have the right color to finish the layout (believe it or not) and Em and I may have to go shopping.
Barb should be here in about a half hour to crop.....don't know what I will work on. Janelle is not coming because her sister was in a car accident today (her sister went to the emergency room to get checked out, but as far as I know nothing was life threatening). Janelle reminded me that tonight was the new beginning of another Greatest Loser...I usually watch the first show and then don't tune in until near the end. What does that say about me? Lack of concentration or just shallow?

CHANGE - My word for 2010
There will be many changes this year, some good and some bad. So I decided to start with a change that was good and one that I could control. I have now entered the world of blogging! (granted I had to place an emergency call at 8:55pm to Angela so that I knew whether to click yes or no to setup questions) But I did choose the name, description and layout design all by myself.
I am sure that starting a blog is a lot like starting a scrapbook- awkward and primitive until you find your own style and rhythm. So let's see what happens.............
