Caroline said to me that I didn't explain where the bullets came from. Last fall we bought Doug's chair from a friend whose father had died. The chair had almost never been used. After I found the bullets Doug called them and said "Guess what we found tucked in the chair?" (I would have guessed money) My friend's husband said, "a pistol?" Doug said , " no, just the ammunition." My friend's grandfather was a police officer in Louieville, Kentucky and the guns were passed down from him. Mystery solved!
