A $275.00 Spending Spree

Last night with grocery ads in hand I meticulously compared, listed price and store, and planned my shopping trip. I left the house this morning approximately around 11:30am. (By the way , I usually never do the shopping..........Doug Rex is in charge of that.) and very happily spent the next three hours reading labels, looking at grams of fat , and finding whole wheat products. I bought 10 cans of Shop Rite Tuna in water....10 for $10.00, I bought 3 cases of 24oz.bottles of water each (72 bottles) for $10.00! I mean I was really shopping price. After Shop Rite I ran to Pathmark just to pick up a few things that were better deals than at Shop Rite. OK, I should never be allowed out grocery shopping by myself! $275.00 later I have all of the foods necessary to begin losing weight. Between now and my 60th birthday I intend to become lean and mean! That means that I need to start to exercise too...yuk! But, (whining) I can't breathe, my clothes don't fit, I get out of breath climbing stairs and even the scale says that I am gaining weight. Let's see? How many articles of clothing could I buy at Coldwater Creek for $275.00? End Of Story! Case Closed!

Grandma picking up Sam.

Red Day -An Apple with handprint stem

Blue Day - blue water, don't eat the fish!

Looks worse than it is

Pop was a traveling salesman for Gulf Oil. He drove a company car to all of his accounts. This side of his face, the left side, was almost always in the sun, hence the greater risk for skin cancer. Stay tuned for the new improved face........coming eventually. A great Frankenstein, right?

Pop-Pop

Pop-Pop otherwise known as Dad has come through his latest medical adventure with flying colors. Last week on Wednesday Pop went for a non-stress stress test to see if his heart could withstand a three hour operation under anesthesia. He has a perfect heart. Nothing is blocked and he was cleared for surgery.
This week on Wednesday, my sister Chris, Caroline and I took Pop to Robert Wood Johnson Medical Center for same day surgery.(What they really mean is stay all day). The cancer on the left side of his face was removed (He will need this are radiated), his left groin was biopsied for possible nodules, and then the plastic surgeon took over and basically took loose skin from Pop's neck and pulled it up to cover where the cancer was on his cheek. So not only is his heart and face ok.....he will have one of the most original halloween costumes around!

Mirror, Mirror on the Wall.......?

Can you find my Birthmother? This gathering is of the Lamontagne brothers and sisters. 10 siblings in all! My half brother Dana sent me a copy of this photo via E-mail. It is a little bit freaky to see your resemblence in so many faces. Adrienne Dupuis is in the second row , the only woman in the middle. She was 75 in this picture. She is now 79 and weighs 99 lbs., but is very spry and energetic.

The end but yet the Beginning

August and Summer are coming to a close. So busy during August, it just flew by. It was so hot that we couldn't go outside until finally, just this week the heat finally broke for a few glorious days. The end of summer and the beginning of fall. Fall brings my birthday and the start of Pre-school for Samantha, cooler weather for sure, a friend's daughter's wedding, an operation for Pop, Halloween, Thanksgiving, a five day trip for Samantha, Emilie, Matt and I to Disneyworld in Florida and then my absolute favorite holiday, Christmas. In between all of these events I will try to keep up with my scrapbooking, reading, favorite tv shows (lose some weight), start to cook more and yes, maybe even exercise. Emilie and I are going to take a photography class in New York in October so I expect my photography skills will also improve.
Goodbye to the end and Hello to the Beginning! Welcome Fall.
