Pop-Pop otherwise known as Dad has come through his latest medical adventure with flying colors. Last week on Wednesday Pop went for a non-stress stress test to see if his heart could withstand a three hour operation under anesthesia. He has a perfect heart. Nothing is blocked and he was cleared for surgery.
This week on Wednesday, my sister Chris, Caroline and I took Pop to Robert Wood Johnson Medical Center for same day surgery.(What they really mean is stay all day). The cancer on the left side of his face was removed (He will need this are radiated), his left groin was biopsied for possible nodules, and then the plastic surgeon took over and basically took loose skin from Pop's neck and pulled it up to cover where the cancer was on his cheek. So not only is his heart and face ok.....he will have one of the most original halloween costumes around!
