Cooking Thyme

Caroline and Diego gave me a cooking class for Christmas. It was something that Caroline and I kept saying we would like to do together. It was a perfect gift!
I got to do something fun with Caroline, I got to cook and try new foods AND I got to take pictures of the whole experience!

We had about 24 people in the class and we made five different winter soups.

The work tables were lowered and they became the formal dining tables.

Starting with groceries and ending with filling, warm winter soups! The class started at 7pm and we finished tasting at 10pm. We enjoyed meeting all of the different people that came to the class and with whom we sampled the soups. Ohhhh! Let's do it again!

Welcome 2014 !

My One Little Word for this year is EMBRACE. I am going to reach out and embrace all life has to offer. I am going to try to see the best in every situation. I am going to accept imperfections and adjust to them. I am lucky to be alive and able to embrace real life.

I had one of the best New Years Eve nights ever.
Meet my 91 year old father who is once again being a good sport!

A Mouse in the House!

Have I told you about my mouse in the house? He ALWAYS arrives on December first. He is a distant cousin to The Elf on the Shelf. He moves around my house at night after he reports the naughty and nice to the North Pole. Each morning I get up and look to see what mischief there might be!

Visiting Pennsylvania

To Babysit Kellen and Kamryn, while Tim and Robyn drove to Virginia to Tim's Company Christmas Party. They left Saturday around 1pm and came home Sunday around 3:30pm. (had a one car slide into a big curb event in Robyn's car around 12:30pm just as they were leaving for home. Probably bent the rim or drive shaft.)

I am always prepared with crafts, games and cooking treats! Kellen is getting ready to put together Foam christmas ornaments with Kamryn and I.

Then out to dinner at the local pizzeria. Only glitch, Had to drive Tim's car out of his garage (it had the kids car seats in it), drive to pizza place and then get car back into his garage so the door could close and so I did not scratch the car or run over any bikes. I have not driven a car into or out of a garage in 30 years! (I did just fine).

Robyn of course had her house decorated for Christmas. It looked wonderful.

Cresent Moon was cool too!

Baked cookies, spent the night, The Elf ate a cookie, We had cookies for breakfast, It snowed and Grandma drove home on the treacherous roads. I got home around 5:15pm, Sunday night,
